Retro Lap Chase is a pursuit racing game where the player controls a police car trying to catch a speeding pixel criminal. The criminal’s car mirrors your speed – you must force them into a spin by matching their bumper position for a set duration.
Level & Content Design
The product includes eighteen pursuit scenarios, each set in a different neighbourhood (docks, industrial, suburbs). Pursuit lengths range from forty to ninety seconds. This is a fixed collection; no new scenarios are added later.
Visuals & Experience
A blue-and-red overhead strobe effect flashes on the screen’s edges during active pursuit. The pixel art uses a darker palette with reflective wet-road surfaces. Control response is immediate, with a dedicated “ram” button that causes a small speed penalty to the player.
